In other words, all .MOBI websites should be designed to be viewed properly by mobile devices in agreement with the so-called “MWI Best Practices for mobile content” formulated by the W3C Mobile Web Initiative (MWI) in cooperation with the dot MOBI Registry. The regulations have provoked some questions due to the fact that the universal extension is the only one that specifies what devices has to be able to access a website and the way in which this has to happen, breaking the so-called principles of device independence, according to which a web page should be created in such a way as to be viewed by the majority of Internet browsers and devices, be they mobile or stationary.
